Developing the CAT site has been an interesting challenging with exacting requirements for publication workflows and search.

With a statutory requirement for transparency, CAT needs to publish details of cases and case documents online. The publication process involves a carefully crafted workflow involving CAT’s legal experts.

CAT’s audience of specialist lawyers, industry sector regulators, government departments and academics need to be able to find cases, judgments and published documents as easily as possible.

Customised search based on Elasticsearch

At the heart of our solution for CAT’s site is customised search based on Elasticsearch, providing a combination of text search and faceted navigation. Also fundamental to the solution is Drupal 8’s workflow functionality, configured to meet CAT’s requirements.

A website that elegantly and functionally fulfils a vital role in the UK’s legal system.

The exacting requirements of CAT’s specialist legal audiences and internal users have provided a fascinating challenge for our user experience designers and developers. The end result is a website that elegantly and functionally fulfils a vital role in the UK’s legal system.
