Content Development
Your content is the most important aspect of your site. Let’s face it, though the cover art and font selection in a book do matter, they pale into insignificance next to the actual story.
Our consultancy work includes reviewing the effectiveness and personality of our clients’ content.
We often start this process by carrying out a content audit where we list and review all of the pages on an existing site. This is a valuable exercise because it means that we can identify effective, well written content and also ROT (redundant, outdated and trivial) content (as shown below).

For us, the information architecture process goes hand in hand with content development. Both disciplines need to draw upon an organisation’s personality to get the tone of voice right for page labels, microcopy and headings. One way to do this is to ask people if there is a famous person that embodies their organisation. This is often a fun exercise that can throw up some strange results - we’ve recently been working for Joanna Lumley and Melvyn Bragg for example!

We also provide advice to our clients about how they can manage their content going forward. We help to ensure that the organisations we work with have the right staff and editorial processes to effectively manage content. We also provide tools such as content templates to ensure style and tone of voice consistency even when content is delivered from multiple authors.
